      Sensory Swing Science

      VESTIBULAR INPUT & DEEP TOUCH PRESSURE

      Sensory swings provide vestibular input. Vestibular input is the sensation of any change in position, direction, or movement of the head. It gives our bodies information about whether we are moving with or against gravity, fast or slow, moving or still, and what direction we're headed. If you'd like to learn more about sensory swings and the science behind them, we wrote a guide to it here.

      Sensory swings also provide Deep Touch Pressure (DTP). DTP is simply distributed weight across the body that can give a feeling of calm, relaxation, and naturally improved sleep. If you'd like to read more about the natural benefits of DTP, we wrote an article on it here.

      The Compression sensory swing material is great!

      My grandson loves the feel of the material of the swing, but we haven’t been able to use the swing because we are waiting to order the Harkla’s 360 swivel to use with the swing. We are looking forward to using our swing.

      Perfect for kiddo with SPD, fabric a bit thin

      The mechanism for attaching this to the ceiling is great, and feels very secure. The swing provides a very tight sensory experience, and the swivel attachment is a must. The only thing I don't love is that the fabric is quite thin. I expected it to be much thicker based on my experience with other similar swings at the therapist clinic.

      Great swing for my sensory seeker

      Arrived quickly, no shipping delays, beautiful blue color. Material is soft but durable so far (I have three kids and it’s getting heavily used!). Relatively easy to install and appreciate the videos (vs just an instruction booklet). 4 stars instead of 5 only because the 360 swivel had to be bought/shopped separately (it was also backordered at the time of ordering). Wish it could have come with the swing!
