Quick Update for our ATS Family!

Hi podcast fam! I just wanted to have a quick pow-wow and chat about what this season is going to look like. As many of you may know already, my son is starting kindergarten this fall and I'll be doing a homeschool program with him. Exciting but also very time consuming!

We also have a team member getting married this fall and we are excited to travel and celebrate with her family!

And of course, we have been working on a really exciting product launch: My Weighted Vest! It's finally coming to life and it's been a really time consuming product to bring (back) to life!

That being said, it's a crazy time for our whole team, which is why we're pressing the pause button on recording new episodes, so we can all find our footing over the next few months.

As always, I appreciate your support and dedication! I'll be back soon as your podcast host and give you all the homeschooling tea you could ever imagine!

Make sure you're subscribed here so you get notified when our next episode launches!

And we'll share all the pictures, videos and updates on Instagram in the meantime: @allthingssensorypodcast

Love you all and I'll be back soon!

Quick Update for Our ATS Family!

If you’ve been part of the All Things Sensory (ATS) family for a while, you know that the podcast is all about practical, helpful conversations around pediatric occupational therapy, sensory processing, child development, and more. Over the years, the podcast schedule has shifted between weekly and every-other-week episodes.

Through all those changes, one thing has stayed the same: the Harkla team wants every episode and resource to be helpful and worth your time. Right now, there are some exciting changes happening for both Rachel and her family and the Harkla team.

Because of that, the All Things Sensory podcast will be slowing down for a short time. Here’s a quick update on what’s happening and what you can expect next!

A New Season For Rachel & Her Family

Rachel is entering a big new season as a parent: her oldest is heading to kindergarten this fall! Her family has decided to try a less traditional approach to kindergarten this year.

They’ll be doing a hybrid option, which means Rachel will be spending more time at home doing homeschool activities with him. It’s an exciting transition, but it also means adjusting schedules and finding a new routine.

As Rachel and her family settle into this new rhythm, some of the time she normally spends recording and creating podcast content will need to shift. Because of that, All Things Sensory will be scaling back for the next month or two.

But don’t worry, the podcast isn’t going anywhere! This short break will give Rachel and the Harkla team time to get organized and make sure future episodes continue to meet the high standards listeners have come to expect.

Exciting Things Are Happening At Harkla

Rachel’s family transition isn’t the only big thing happening behind the scenes. The Harkla team has a lot going on!

One team member is getting married soon, and many members of the Harkla team will be traveling to celebrate. There are also some exciting new Harkla product launches coming up, including one that has a very special connection to Rachel and the history of the All Things Sensory podcast.

A Special Weighted Vest Is Coming

Longtime listeners may remember The Sensory Project, where Rachel’s journey began before All Things Sensory became what it is today. Weighted vests were a big part of that journey.

Rachel worked with recycled weighted vests and eventually designed a vest of her own. That design was later sold to Harkla.

Now, Harkla has finally been able to bring those weighted vests to life! This launch is especially meaningful because it connects Rachel’s early work with The Sensory Project to the work happening at Harkla today.

For listeners who have followed along for years, it’s a pretty special full-circle moment. Stay tuned for more information about the new weighted vests in the coming weeks!

Rachel Wrote A Book

There’s one more big project taking up time behind the scenes: Rachel has been writing a book!

Writing a book is no small project, and it has been another important focus for Rachel over the past several months. The book is now available for pre-order for anyone who wants to learn more.

Between the book, upcoming Harkla products, family changes, and regular work behind the scenes, there are a lot of moving pieces right now. That’s exactly why the team has decided that slowing down the podcast for a short time makes the most sense.

Why All Things Sensory Is Slowing Down

The Harkla and All Things Sensory teams have high standards for the resources they share. Whether it’s a:

  • Podcast episode

  • YouTube video

  • Course

  • Sensory resource

  • New product

  • Educational article

The goal is to create something that is genuinely helpful.

Rather than rushing new episodes just to stay on schedule, the team is taking a little extra time to get organized and prepare for what’s next. That means listeners may notice fewer new episodes over the next month or two.

All Things Sensory is not going away. This is simply a short season of change before new topics, interviews, and conversations return.

Catch Up On Past All Things Sensory Episodes

While there may be fewer new episodes for a little while, this is a great opportunity to explore the All Things Sensory podcast archives. After eight years of conversations, there are plenty of past episodes to discover or revisit.

Listeners can find episodes covering topics like:

  • Sensory processing

  • Pediatric occupational therapy

  • Primitive reflexes

  • Child development

  • Emotional regulation

  • Sensory activities

  • Practical strategies for home and therapy

Already listening to an older episode?

Take a screenshot and tag @allthingssensorypodcast on Instagram. The team loves seeing which episodes listeners are enjoying and finding helpful.

Help Choose Future Podcast Topics

This short break is also a great time to help shape what comes next.

  • Are there occupational therapy topics you want to understand better?

  • Do you have questions about sensory processing?

  • Is there a topic from an older episode that deserves a deeper conversation?

Rachel would love to hear your ideas.

Questions and topic requests can be sent through Instagram at @allthingssensorypodcast. Those questions can help inspire future episodes and conversations when the podcast returns to its regular schedule.

Thank You To The ATS Family!

Whether you started listening last week or have been following All Things Sensory for the past eight years, thank you for being part of the ATS family. All Things Sensory has grown and changed a lot over the years, but its purpose remains the same: creating honest, practical conversations about occupational therapy and the topics that matter to parents, therapists, and the children they support.

There are plenty of exciting things happening behind the scenes right now. For the next few weeks, the focus will be on Rachel’s family transition, upcoming Harkla launches, the new book, and making sure everything is ready for the next season of All Things Sensory.

In the meantime, keep listening to your favorite episodes, send in your questions, and stay tuned. All Things Sensory will be back soon!
